Growing for our Community

In July 2025 Milnathort and Kinross Allotment Association officially opened a community fruit cage to enable us to help provide fresh produce to our local community. It has long been the desire of the association to give back to the local community and we have tried many times over the years to get people to come and join us on site, but unfortunately the motorway is often seen as a barrier One of our members approached us to see if we would be interested in applying for a grant from the Royal Warrant Holders Association to develop a space to benefit the wider community. It gave us the opportunity to turn our outreach ideas on their head - if we can't get the community come to the allotment then maybe we could to take the allotment to the community? Thanks to a successful grant application and an additional donation from McNab Sport we were able to fund the construction and planting of a large fruit cage. Our members know the value of homegrown fruit and veg, and we are delighted we will now be able to share it with people in our community that will benefit from it the most. We have Kinross Centre, Broke not Broken, Whyte Court and Causeway Court lined up to receive our harvests. We are incredibly grateful to the Royal Warrant Holders Association for granting us this opportunity through their funding, and to Duncan and Maggie from McNab Sport for their own generous donation and for helping us secure the grant that made it all possible.
